A: The best way to communicate with us is through the patient portal. The patient portal is available 24 hours a day, and we answer all questions sent through the portal in a timely manner.
A: In case of a medical emergency, please call 911, go to your nearest emergency room, or contact your primary care physician. When we receive your results after your visit with your local ER or primary care physician, we will send our interpretation of the results through the patient portal or relay them to you via a televisit.
A: No, we do not serve as primary care physicians. As endocrinologists, we specialize in treating and diagnosing endocrine issues, so we focus on disorders of the endocrine system. You need a primary care physician to provide the medical care you need outside of the endocrine system.
A: That depends on your insurance. Most of our patients are referred to us by their primary care physicians.
A: You can reach us after hours via the patient portal for all non-emergency questions and concerns. If you are having an emergency, please call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
A: If you are an active patient of our clinic and we prescribed this medication to you in the past, we are more than happy to refill your prescription for you. If we haven’t seen you in a while, we may request that you schedule an appointment with us before we can refill your prescription. We ask that you request refills via the patient portal two weeks before your prescription runs out because some prescriptions require a prior authorization from your insurance company. We recommend that you do not wait until you are down to your last pill to request a refill, so that you don’t experience any interruptions in your medication regimen.
A: Please bring the following items with you to your appointment: Valid current insurance card ● List of your current medications and their dosages ● Faxed referral from your primary care physician if you are new to our clinic ● A form of payment (credit card, debit card, or cash) if your insurance requires a copayment (Note: This must be paid prior to you being seen by our doctors) ● Medical information (Any previous ultrasound reports, MRI of the brain, CT or MRI of the adrenal glands, Thyroid biopsy cytopathology report, whole body scan reports, most recent thyroglobulin values, Most recent Hemoglobin A1c, Kidney testing, your glucometer)
A: Yes. A free copy of your lab results is available 24/7 in the patient portal. Additionally, we are happy to fax your results to your primary care physician upon request. Please note that we are an environmentally conscious facility, and we do not print lab results.
